Installation Technician Hardware
Location: Agrate Brianza
What you’ll do at Elekta
The Hardware Installation Technician is responsible for the mechanical and electrical installation and upgrading of Elekta’s Treatment Delivery Solutions at customer sites. The primary geographic area will be in European & Eastern European region with opportunities to perform installations in other countries. All work will be assigned to the technician by the Hardware Installation Manager according to the project schedule. Hardware Installation Technicians will work as part of a team. Once at the customers site the technicians are expected to manage and co-ordinate all activities associated with the assigned project including liaison with the local rigging team, local service Engineers, Distributor Management, Project Management, hospital physicists and technicians, site contractors and relevant departments within Elekta.
Responsibilities
- To install, without supervision, all systems within the product portfolio to the required specification and quality within the project timescales.
- To complete mechanical and electrical, phase 1 installation of Elekta Linear Accelerators, up to the point of powering on the machine for the first time.
- Completion of installation documentation and handing over to hardware installation engineer for the completion of phase 2 installation, which includes beam tuning, calibration, and acceptance of overall installation.
- To have excellent knowledge and proven skills in electronics, PCs and servers, networking, high vacuum, high/low voltage & current, diagnostic equipment and a general knowledge of all engineering disciplines
- To operate always in accordance with the Elekta quality system and complete the administration requirements of the role in a timely and accurate manner.
- Can manage own workload.
- To be highly motivated, dynamic, have good leadership skills and be a good problem solver.
- To have proven site management skills
- To have a strong customer focus and have excellent customer service skills.
- To ensure that all customers are provided with high quality service and attention throughout the installation process, so that each customer is fully satisfied with the support they receive from Elekta.
- An excellent communicator at all levels, particularly destinations where English is not the first language. Written and verbal output shall be concise and accurate.
- To engender and support Elekta values.
- To represent Elekta in a professional and positive manner
- To always follow Elekta’s quality and safety policies
- To be prepared to work as required at times and locations dictated by the needs of Elekta and the customer.
- To provide feedback to the Installation Manager regarding any issues, solutions or opportunities which may need to be communicated to other parts of the organization.
- To identify and implement improvements that enhances the customer’s satisfaction with Elekta.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all Elekta products in the portfolio
- Be prepared to provide training to other staff when necessary.
What you bring
- Employees must be competent in verbal and written English language as a minimum.
- Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in a related engineering discipline or relevant work experience
- Experience of installing or servicing complicated capital equipment
- Biomedical experience and/or technical knowledge of radiotherapy equipment in the field or a hospital setting would be desirable.
- Excellent Communication and mentoring skills to deal with challenges presented by culture and language.
- Effective time and resource management.
- Must be quality orientated in all tasks.
- Proven ability to manage own environment and complete the tasks deployed to them.
- Engineering skills: electrical, electronic fault finding, plumbing, Mechanical.
- Competent with relevant IT technology including Windows OS, MS Office Applications, networking, and control applications.
- Demonstrates drive and commitment to Elekta and the tasks in hand.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the year.
- Clean Driving License
