Evaluation Breakdown
1. Cloud Knowledge and Experience 40%
Demonstrated experience enabling and designing the Government of Ontarios clouds primarily Azure AWS but some experience with Oracle and Google cloud technology would be useful. This experience would need be with Cloud environments that are of the same scale as the Government of Ontario Cloud or BPS environments.
2. Communications and Customer Service 15%
Demonstrated experience of working with customers/key stakeholders and using communication skills to resolve operational issues negotiate or document process related intelligence.
3. Analysis and ProblemSolving 15%
Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and resolving Azure/AWS/GCP/Oracle Cloud environments incidents and working with vendor partners.
Project Background:
Cloud technologies have become the expected market approach in Information Technology (IT) as Cloud has changed how applications and services are delivered by enabling ease of deployment scalability and faster time to market. ITS (Infrastructure Technology) has led the enablement of public and private cloud offerings by supporting the objectives and goals of the Ontario Governments Ontario Onwards and MPBSD to assist in transforming the province of Ontario to be a technology and digital leader.
As the demand for cloud services and hosting grows so does the need for appropriate expert level cloud skills. Currently ITS does not have sufficient cloud skills in house to support the ongoing cloud work related to improving and maturing the Cloud platforms. ITS has implemented several skills initiatives to improve the inhouse skills however reskilling staff to expert levels required takes significant time and is not able to keep up with demand. Training programs underway include plural sight job shadowing vendor sessions and training programs. These are improving the OPS teams skills however Cloud is growing quickly we will need more time get a desired compliment up to speed.
