Job Description for Phlebotomist position:
A Phlebotomist is a medical professional who draws blood samples from patients for laboratory testing. They also collect other specimens such as urine sputum and throat swabs. Phlebotomists play a vital role in healthcare by providing accurate and timely blood samples that help doctors diagnose and treat diseases.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare patients for blood draws by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.
Select the appropriate needle and vein for the blood draw.
Draw blood from patients using venipuncture or fingerstick methods.
Label and package blood samples for transport to the laboratory.
Perform other laboratory tests such as blood glucose monitoring and urinalysis.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
Freshers will also work.
