Job description
We are looking for a Data Engineer for one of our most prestigious clients, an international research center based in Italy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale data processing systems. Ensure that the architecture will support the requirements of the business.
2. Data Collection and Storage: Collect and store data from various sources, ensuring that the data is accessible, efficient, and secure.
3. Data Processing: Implement algorithms and software needed to process data. Optimizing data retrieval and developing dashboards for data visualization.
4. Data Quality and Reliability: Ensure the quality and reliability of data. Implement systems for tracking data quality and consistency.
5. Collaboration with Data Science Teams: Work closely with data scientists and analysts to provide them with the necessary data for their analysis. Generate different type of outcomes as dashboard and tabular data.
6. Technology Research: Stay updated with new technologies and methodologies in data engineering and related fields.
Required Technology Experience and Knowledge:
1. Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer science or Informatics
2. 3+ years of experience in the role of data engineering
3. Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python
4. Database Management: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
5. Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
6. Data Warehousing Solutions: knowledge of data warehousing tools like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
7. ETL Tools: Proficiency in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools like Penthao or custom scripting.
8. Cloud Platforms: knowledge of cloud services from providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
9. Data Modelling: Understanding of data modelling and data architecture principles.
10. Containerization and Orchestration: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

Grading and salary will be commensurate to the professional background.
Location: Ispra (VA), Italy. Activities will be performed partially on-site and partially in smart-working.
