Job description

We are looking for a Data Scientist with a Background in Data Engineering for one of our most prestigious clients, an international research center based in Italy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advanced Data Analysis: Apply statistical analysis to large data sets in order to identify trends and develop valuable insights. Use machine learning techniques to develop scalable solutions for business problems.

- Data Infrastructure Development: Leverage your data engineering background to design and build robust data infrastructure and pipelines that support advanced analytics ad graph analysis.

- Machine Learning Implementation: Develop and implement various machine learning models to solve complex business problems.

- Natural Language Processing (NLP): Employ NLP techniques for text analytics, entity recognition, and language understanding.

- Collaborative Model Development: Work closely with other data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to develop models that address key business challenges.

- Data Visualization and Reporting: Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to heterogeneous teams

Required Technology Experience and Knowledge:

- Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer science or Informatics

- 3+ years of experience in the role of data scientist

- Programming Languages: Strong skills in Python and R, including libraries specifically for data science and machine learning like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn.

- Database Management: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.

- Big Data Technologie: Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.

- Data Visualization and Communication: Create visualizations and reports, especially for representing complex relationships and model results, to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Data Modelling: Understanding of data modelling and data architecture principles.

- Natural Language Processing (NLP): Experience in NLP algorithms and frameworks, understanding of text mining and sentiment analysis.

- Graph Analysis and Network Theory: Knowledge of graph analysis techniques and tools (like Neo4j or Gephi). Ability to work with complex network structures and perform graph-based data analysis

- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems.

- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.

- Time Management: Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Grading and salary will be commensurate to the professional background.

Location: Ispra (VA), Italy. Activities will be performed partially on-site and partially in smart-working.
