The Company:
A highly regarded construction company involved in the delivery of world class healthcare projects in the UK and Internationally.
The Position: To act as the project financial guardian and ensure that the project(s) meet the required quality standards. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost and contractual procedures within construction project(s). The primary focus will be on accurately estimating project costs, managing budgets, and ensuring cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Specific duties and responsibilities: - Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for construction project(s).
- Conduct a detailed cost analysis, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and risks.
- Manage and negotiate contracts, variations, and procurement processes.
- Monitor project progress, expenses, and cash flow against budgets.
- Assess and value completed work, managing payments to contractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure cost control and adherence to project specifications.
- Provide advice on contractual matters and resolve disputes that may arise during construction.
Experience Required: - Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification or membership in relevant industry organizations (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
- Proficiency in cost estimation, contract administration, and budget management.
- Experience in major healthcare construction would be an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Fully conversant in FIDIC form of contract.
- Preferably has experience working in Africa.
- Actively uses social media platforms such as LinkedIn for business networking and industry updates.
