Job Description:
Overview:
As an Software Packager you will be responsible for preparing and deploying software packages across our organizations infrastructure.
Working within a team of IT professionals you will play a key role in ensuring that software applications are properly packaged tested and deployed in accordance with organizational standards and requirements.
Your expertise will contribute to the smooth functioning of IT operations and the enhancement of enduser experiences.
Responsibilities:
Software Packaging:
Package software applications for deployment using packaging tools such as Microsoft SCCM MSI Packaging or similar tools.
Customize package configurations to meet specific organizational requirements including silent installation options commandline parameters and customization scripts.
Perform quality assurance testing on packaged software to ensure functionality compatibility and adherence to standards.
Deployment and Distribution:
Deploy packaged software to enduser devices using software deployment platforms like Microsoft SCCM Intune or other deployment methods.
Coordinate software deployment schedules and ensure minimal disruption to enduser productivity.
Troubleshoot deployment issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure successful software installations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of software packaging processes configurations and deployment procedures.
Generate reports on software deployment status including deployment success rates compliance and performance metrics.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of software packages and deployment processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with IT teams application owners and stakeholders to gather software requirements and coordinate deployment activities.
Communicate effectively with endusers to provide support gather feedback and address concerns related to software installations.
Participate in team meetings and contribute insights and recommendations for optimizing software packaging and deployment processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (preferred).
24 years of experience in software packaging and deployment in an enterprise environment.
Proficiency in software packaging tools such as Microsoft SCCM MSI Packaging or similar tools.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell) for automation tasks related to software packaging and deployment.
Familiarity with software deployment platforms such as Microsoft SCCM Intune or similar systems.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot deployment issues effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams.
Detailoriented with a focus on delivering highquality results within defined timelines.
Industry certifications related to software packaging and deployment (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Windows Software Asset Management) are a plus.
