Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Purchase Manager to join our team in GIDC, Surat. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in managing plant consumables, project engineering-related products, and imports within the pharmaceutical or API manufacturing industry. The candidate must have a deep understanding of SAP Purchase Module, excellent negotiation skills, a well- established network, an engineering background, a track record of successfully managing greenfield projects in the API sector, and a strong awareness of SEZ (Special Economic Zone) norms. Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of the procurement function, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability of supplies. Manage a diverse range of procurement categories, including plant consumables and project engineering-related products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials. Utilize SAP Purchase Module to optimize procurement processes, maintain accurate records, and monitor supplier performance. Build and maintain a strong network of suppliers, both domestically and internationally, to secure the best pricing and terms. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and conditions while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and industry regulations, including SEZ norms Actively participate in greenfield project management, coordinating procurement activities for new API manufacturing projects. Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Must have exposure in Capex and Opex Education Bachelor;s degree in Engineering or a related field. An MBA in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is a plus. Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, with a strong focus on plant consumables and project engineering-related products, preferably in the pharmaceutical or API manufacturing industry. In-depth knowledge of SAP Purchase MM Module. Proven track record of successful negotiations and supplier relationship management. Well-connected within the industry with established supplier networks. Strong project management skills with experience in managing greenfield projects in the API sector. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Thorough understanding of SEZ (Special Economic Zone) norms and compliance requirements. Experience Preferred Experience with SAP Experience Working In API Pharmaceutical Company Must have experience in SAP MM in Pharma API Good in exposure in Audits and must be strong in analytics.
