About the Role

Position Title: Vice President - Vice President - Program Management & Risk Assessment (NPA)

Job Profile :

This role will be required to assist and coordinate financial crime governance matters and coordination of New Product Assessment (NPA) for MUFG locations regionally.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic

The candidate will provide support to the Program Management team in executing governance and coordinating NPA by deploying effective governance in the Asia & Oceania region. Responsibilities of the VP include:

Supporting the Global Financial Crime Division program governance and implementation in the region. Provide support on ad hoc projects which are managed by Program Management.

Coordinate material financial crime information for regional governance forums and Global reporting. Coordinate cross-functional and global projects.

Support the region to administer new forums, meetings as necessary and ensure its successful delivery.

Provide in-depth support with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.

Drive program enhancements by working collaboratively with all members of the program. NPA

Coordinate financial crime NPA in the region including maintaining and updating the NPA procedure, timely replies to stakeholders, keeping track of timelines, reviewing the NPA template, reporting and escalating to the global team when required.

Financial

• Where applicable, suggest process improvements as identified to enable a faster, more efficient and sustainable GRA process
• Drive the process enhancement for the NPA process

Customer

• Manage stakeholders both in APAC and GFCD.
• Providing MUFGs stakeholders with the information necessary to make informed decisions about control enhancements to manage risks
• Producing project status reports and progress periodically and other management information to support project work and business-as-usual activity
• Identifying, managing and reporting risks and issues to resolution and escalating where necessary

People

• Work collaboratively across functional teams to ensure effective and efficient operations with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
• Communicating with assessed branches and overseeing the local risk assessment process
• Providing the necessary support to both first and second line of defense from branches to ensure a smooth and efficient Governance and NPA process

Other/ Control

• Gain familiarity with the MUFG financial crimes compliance framework, including the roles of Internal Audit and Compliance Testing
• Develop an understanding of global Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) regulatory regimes

Job Requirements:

Educational & Professional Qualification:

• Degree qualified
• BA / BS Degree; ACAMS or relevant professional qualification is a plus

Experience and Skills Required:

• 5 years or more of experience in financial industry, with compliance experience, preferably within a global organization.
• Financial Crime and progressive process improvement experience
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously and effectively with wide range of senior stakeholders across all lines and others in the organization
• Experience interacting with senior members of the bank, control function leadership and compliance subject matter experts.
• Collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and deliver executive level presentations.
• Ability to work autonomously and initiate and prioritize own work
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite( i.e. Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word), particularly in Excel and handling data
• Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills
• Highly skilled at reporting and gathering / reporting metrics
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Stakeholder management, Project management, Insights into Governance and Risk Management, Financial Crime Compliance Knowledge
