Job Description:
As a Senior Engineer specializing in OpenShift Cluster Maintenance onprem, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of our OpenShift platform. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing OpenShift clusters to support our organization's applications and services. Your expertise will be instrumental in troubleshooting issues, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvements in our OpenShift environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, Maintenance and Administration: Perform regular maintenance tasks such as Installing new cluster, patching, upgrades, and configuration management for existing OpenShift clusters to ensure optimal performance and security.
Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, and performance degradation within the OpenShift infrastructure. Configure alerts and notifications to enable timely response to critical events.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues related to OpenShift clusters, including but not limited to networking problems, resource constraints, and application failures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues and ensure timely resolution.
Capacity Planning and Optimization: Analyze resource utilization trends and plan capacity expansions as needed to accommodate growing workloads. Identify opportunities for optimization to improve resource efficiency and reduce costs.
Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance standards within the OpenShift environment. Ensure adherence to security policies, perform regular security audits, and address any vulnerabilities or compliance gaps.
Automation and Tooling: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline repetitive tasks, automate deployments, and improve operational efficiency. Leverage infrastructure-as-code principles to manage OpenShift configuration and provisioning.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for the OpenShift platform. Share knowledge and best practices with other team members to build collective expertise.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide timely support for OpenShift-related initiatives. Collaborate with vendors and external partners as needed to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
