Role Responsibilities
The role reports to Director – Strategic Planning and Analysis and will support the team on three key areas of responsibility
- To Strategically support Global Transaction Banking Business and Operations
- Budget Management and Control for the TB Front Office & COO Organization
- HC Management and Control for the TB Front Office & COO Organization
- Manage and track TB investment portfolio in the context of TB and CCIB priorities
- The role is focused on supporting in driving business performance / results through a) facilitating the implementation of Bank-wide and TB initiatives b) supporting discussions and decision-making at various forums / committees c) delivering efficiency, change, and business performance agendas.
Strategy
- Benchmarking: Carry out competitor benchmarking exercise based on paid and publicly available information to identify SCB and competitors' strengths, weak spots, and identify business opportunities in the market. Problem Solving: Based on data gathered during benchmarking, performance analysis, customer feedback and assist in identifying problem areas, and support solving by coordinating with business and process owners.
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group Operates.
Processes
Primary Responsibilities
- Review and present Transaction Banking business performance for increased productivity and growth
- Facilitate internal communication within the teams and cascade Senior Management updates.
- Manage day to day operations of Transaction Banking Product teams
- Track and review Head Count changes and Costs booked
- Take part in Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Planning.
- Other administrative works falling under the purview of TB.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Closely work with Front Office and Operations teams to obtain business performance and financial information to review and push forward bank’s objectives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, papers, and review material to support discussions and decision making at Business Review forums
- Closely work with Finance, Operations, Implementation, Product and Sales teams to obtain Scorecard KPIs and update key stakeholders.
- Spot anomalies, analyse and explain the trends in KPIs and business performance metrics.
- Manage day-to-day operations of Transaction Banking team across the region and in key countries.
Business Performance Presentations
- Develop and design presentations, primarily in PowerPoint, that advance key business objectives and tell the story through clean, concise, and well-organized slides
- Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
Business Analytics
- Interpret, evaluate and interrelate data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic business decision-making.
- Review detailed finance reports by comparing forecasts with budgets and highlighting to business heads on areas that required action.
- Drive discussions with various business and operations stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend suitable reporting approach for better consistency and data governance.
Cost Management
- Review and reconcile changes to Head Count, support execution to achieve cost budget and identify the cost save opportunities.
- Manage cost centre structures and ensure resources are labelled correctly
- Maintain organisation charts for TB Business and coordinate with Team administrators to review distribution lists
People & Talent
- Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
- Responsibility to review capacity plans.
Risk Management
- The ability to interpret the Group’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Governance
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group and Regions operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
