Job Overview 
Supply chain analytics group is responsible for delivering the solutions and developing the capabilities which enables better decision-making in supply chain. This team works closely with all supply chain functions (i.e. plan, source, make, deliver and customer service teams), business units and other cross functional partners for developing solutions to drive business value. 

 

This team also drives step-change innovation and improvements in business practices by delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and supply chain expertise.

 

The purpose of the job is to support Demand planning function by providing solutions and help implementing it to optimize/Standardize processes which will bring improvement to overall forecasting approach resulting in better accuracy. Explore and take up opportunities which supports the demand planning efforts by creating and executing industry leading and standard approaches.

 
Job Responsibilities


30% of Time
Strategic Responsibilities:

 

· Provide business and process leadership for enhancing models and Stat forecast analysis, validation with exception management

· Set strategic direction for the team in collaboration with cross- functional and Supply Chain leadership

· Lead management and adherence of monthly stat forecast cycle aligned with PEAK DR process and timely feed to tactical forecast plan with validated stat forecast and visualization dashboards on AOC 

· Build ongoing tracking of business goals and communicate progress, risk and risk mitigation measures with respective regions on monthly stat forecast evolution

· Representative for Product and COE teams to ensure that key region-specific needs are accounted for.

· Collaborate with business teams to identify pain points and suggest analytical solutions for General Mills Logistics

 
40% of Time
Operational Responsibilities:

· Track the model accuracy, FVA of statistical forecasts and improvement of key KPI's: MAPE, MASE, TS, Bias, NFM & COV at various lags and granularity

· Lead stat forecasting scenario building to help with DR prep., along with capability to decrypt forecast explainability

· Lead the analysts on monthly stat forecast cycles in the areas of data pre-processing, model selection and hold out set performance at multiple hierarchy and time dimensions

· Support on volumetric derivation on changing business assumptions wrt. tactical forecast around distribution, pricing, Trade merchandising, cannibalization, macroeconomic and other key causal factors

· Lead the monthly forecast exception management by enabling efficient analysis of change, primary driver identification, output reasonableness and validation of stat forecast feature group and building blocks

· Manage rare event flagging for historical data and ways to represent it for go forward predictions on repetitiveness and interpretation

· Lead stat analyst and regional demand planner monthly engagement cadence on tactical demand enrichment feedback and incorporation into future cycles

· Lead BPM run governance calls, presenting Stat performance metrics to senior leadership

· Scaling and implementing the forecasting framework and algorithms to support requirements from new regions and Support execution of pilots to prove scalability and business value while ensuring adherence to process standardization

· Manage region specific demand disaggregation and reconciliation in case of multiple level of forecast breakout

· Lead forecast generation for New Items using like item modelling approach for Tier 1 launches and effectively work on expansion of capability to other tiers

· Close partnership with technical consultant and product teams to roll out the new capabilities into existing systems and processes

· Ensure adherence region specific service level agreements to the planners on data, insights, ad-hoc statistical model runs etc.

Education

Minimum Degree Requirements:Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements:Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations
Required Professional Certifications:

 
Preferred Professional Certifications: CSCP/PMP/ Six Sigma / Analytics
Experience

Minimum years of related experience required:4 years
Preferred years of related experience:5-8 years

 
Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed

 
5+ years of work experience with demonstrated project and people leadership skills in Supply Chain

Hands on experience of leading build of Advanced statistics and Machine learning models

Demonstrated skill in developing new solutions to business problems

Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines

Demonstrated skills in R and Python

Broad understanding of end to end supply chain business processes

Strong analytical and Supply Chain business acumen skills

 Additional Information
- This position reports to the Manager, the Supply Chain Analytics group. Hours of operation are 1.30 PM to 10.30 PM Mumbai time (Monday to Friday) with the ability to flex hours as the job demands

- In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with Organizations' employees at all levels across the company locations

- The Job may involve travel to worldwide GMI location on short term basis depending on business requirements
