About the job
The ideal candidate should have a minimum 3 years of experience in diesel engine assembly. The candidate should possess expertise in various areas, including virtual build validation, time study, torque audit, and build book creation. They will be responsible for implementing modifications to processes, tools, and equipment to accommodate engineering changes and process change requests in engine, battery, chargers, motors, and locomotives assembly.
What You'll Do
- Implement process/tool/equipment modifications to support Engineering Changes and Process Change requests at Engine / Battery / chargers / Motors / Locomotives Assembly
- Create/update manufacturing process documents – PFD, PFMEA, Safety FMEA, Control Plan, Standard Work and Standard Operating Procedures
- Configure and update Standard Work and Torque tools in the Manufacturing Execution Support system (PINpoint/CAPP+/MESA)
- Create/update process routing in SAP (CBS)
- Conduct Engine/Loco Assembly/ Dis Assembly process audit. Work with cross functional team to resolve audit findings within stipulated time
- Conduct Ergonomic Study for Engine Assembly process, identify gaps and implement suitable solution to eliminate ergonomic risks.
- Support continuous improvement drive by implementing improvement suggestions received from cross functional team
- Support cross functional team to validate Engine Assembly issues, identify the root cause using Six Sigma methodology and support for issue resolution
- Support New Product Introduction programs through procurement of process tools and equipment
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4-8 years of relevant work experience
- Mandatory minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine assembly
- Proficient in Virtual Build validation
- Experienced in conducting Time studies for process optimization
- Skilled in performing Torque Audits to ensure precision in assembly processes
- Capable of creating comprehensive Build Books to document and guide assembly procedures
- Strong background in Manufacturing Experience
- Expertise in Virtual Build validation
- Familiarity with the use of Vismockup tool
