Located at Mahindra World City, Chennai India. Job Description The candidate will assist in coordinating monthly accounting processes across multiple general ledgers, with individual responsibilities and process oversight over various accounting functions to include General ledger accounting, Cost accounting, Account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. In addition, this role will be responsible for recommending and implementing process changes in support of increasing effectiveness and efficiency. Areas of focus will change from time to time, providing exposure to all areas of the balance sheet such as cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and intercompany transaction recording, performing all duties in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Job Responsibilities - Support all accounting matters including general accounting, STAT, TP and external audits, and ad-hoc analysis that may arise.
- Prepare and support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for STAT, US GAAP and management reporting.
- Perform standard costing and cost accounting related tasks.
- Analyze consolidated balance sheet, prepare variance analysis and communicate key trends to management.
- Prepare account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items on timely basis.
- Solid understanding of internal controls and ability to assist in reviewing and improving processes to enhance controls and segregation of duties.
- Extensive interaction with commercial, operations, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), finance, treasury, and tax functions
- Participate in cross-functional teams in support of process improvement initiatives.
- Key contact for internal & external auditors
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other tasks as requested by the Accounting Manager
Basic Qualifications CACMA with demonstrated ability in General Accounting in India GAAP.
Additional Information - Accounting focused with strong knowledge of IGAAP & US GAAP
- Operational and forward-thinking attitude
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical with well-developed problem-solving skills
- Oracle experience preferred.
- Industries / Companies to be targeted Manufacturing.
Good Communication Skills With Colleagues - Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of computer based administrative systems (Outlook, Word, Excel, Oracle)
