Job Requirement
Machine Operation:
• Operate and control various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines.
• Set up machines, including loading raw materials and adjusting machine settings.
Reading Technical Drawings:
• Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce components with the required dimensions and tolerances.
Tool Selection:
• Select appropriate cutting tools and materials based on the specifications and requirements of the job.
Quality Control:
• Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
• Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain quality.
Material Handling:
• Load and unload materials into machines, ensuring proper alignment and fixation.
• Move materials within the workshop using manual or powered equipment.
Machine Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team.
Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating machines.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Workpiece Setup:
• Set up and secure work pieces in machines, using fixtures, clamps, or other appropriate methods.
• Align work pieces with machine tools to ensure accurate machining.
Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of machine settings, tool changes, and production quantities.
• Complete job cards or production reports as required.
Problem Solving:
• Identify and troubleshoot issues related to machining processes, tool wear, or deviations from specifications.
• Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance staff to resolve problems.
Efficiency Optimization:
• Optimize machine settings and tool paths to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times.
• Suggest process improvements for increased productivity.
Training and Development:
• Stay informed about advancements in machining technology and techniques.
• Train and mentor junior machinists or apprentices.
Communication:
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality control personnel.
• Provide feedback on production issues or improvements.
Tool Maintenance:
• Maintain and sharpen cutting tools to ensure their effectiveness and longevity.
• Replace tools as needed, following proper procedures.
Environmental and waste Management:
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
• Ensure the proper recycling or disposal of metal shavings, coolant, and other waste materials.
