Automotive & Industry business delivers innovative solutions to the world’s leading manufacturers and service providers in automotive passenger car, commercial vehicles, automotive aftermarket, marine vessels, renewable energy, industrial lamination, industrial equipment, home appliances, modular building, facades, fenestration & insulating glass. We service direct customers as well as channel partners and stay close to them via the central sales and marketing office in Pune and a pan India sales team presence.
Target and scope of the position
- To strengthen Sika India in our steadily growing Automotive & Industry business Unit, we are looking for Senior Engineer/Asst. Manager - Market Field Engineering in Technical Service department for North India region based in Delhi/NCR.
- The candidates should be able to operate in this position independently and make a considerable contribution to our company’s performance.
- Candidates with good understanding of Polyurethane, Epoxy, Acrylics, Silicone etc. technologies and different bonding and sealing techniques and prior experience of handling Transportation and Automotive Segments will be given preference.
- This position is expected to travel at least 60% to 70% in a month within North India and other part of India (whenever require) at various customer location. The candidate does not apply this position if not willing or love to travel whenever necessary.
- Proactive, motivated, self-driven individual with good oral and written communication skills with the ability to think and act analytically.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for Technical service and troubleshooting, setting SOPs, proper planning for technical trials and thereby ensure customer satisfaction within India.
- Designing and executing laboratory testing of Customer projects of North India according Sika’s standard procedures.
- Coordinate with laboratory manager/technician for tests of various Corporate Product technology, local products and third party products.
- Responsible for preparation of all Technical Documentations of internal and external projects.
- Co-ordinate with sales team, provide professional technical support and maintain good relationship with customers.
- Listen to customer, understand potential business opportunities and contribute to business development.
- Follow and check the application process flow, provide product improvement service for customers.
- Recommend the suitable solutions to customers according to their requirement and do test for customers locally required at customer end.
- Deal with customer complaints and carry out trouble shooting of application at customer end.
- Provide technology training, process audit for customer and assist in carrying out technology transfer, launching new products and new business development.
- Independently develop relationship with various stake holders of customer.
- Include preparing application guidelines and other technical literature, evaluation of test results, coordination of specification and certification processes as well as writing reports.
- Adopting and implementing new technical applications, technical interpretation of customer and market requirements and initiation of new developments in the area of adhesive and sealant applications
Qualifications
/Experience:
- BE/B.Tech in Chemical/Polymer Engineering/Mechanical OR M.Sc. in Chemistry/Polymer Science. Minimum 5 years of work experience in Technical Service, Application Engineering in relevant market field for Adhesive & sealants.
- Familiarity within the speciality Chemical, Polymers, Elastomers, Adhesives, Sealant in Industrial and Automotive markets is mandatory.
