POSITION TITLE: Country Manager (India)

DEPARTMENT: Operations

The Role:

The Country Manager is responsible for growing a local technical team and overseeing all personnel, general administrative and day to day operations in India. This individual will implement company policies and strategies for the region while working cross functionally with HR, Talent Acquisition, Department Management to ensure the statistical programming, data management and other services supported in the region are adequately staffed, trained, enabled and motivated to deliver best in class service to the clients.

What You'll Do:

Operational Excellence

  • Work closely with department heads within the company to ensure operational excellence.
  • Ensure all activities and processes performed locally are conducted according to Ora's standard procedures and/or sponsor requirements. 
  • Partner with the Ora Corporate leadership (Operations, P & C and Finance) to create and meet or exceed the established budget.
  • Partner with Ora Corporate leadership to ensure all local team members and office needs are met, promoting teamwork, communication, cooperation and execution excellence within the local office and between the local office and the rest of Ora.
  • Collaborate with teams to hire, train, reward, retain and grow qualified, motivated and productive employees and make recommendations on regional adjustments to Ora's people infrastructure that should be made to maximize the region and our employees' success.

Communication

  • Serve as an ambassador of the company, helping communicate company policies, goals and initiatives, and escalate project issues, timelines, and project strategy decisions, appropriately.
  • Represent the company at industry events, community events, vendor/client meetings, conferences, and with local media.

Technical

  • Ensure programs are developed in accordance with approved project specifications and according to Ora processes. 
  • Identify potential process improvements that may increase productivity.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with People and Culture, COEPI, Legal and Quality to develop and maintain company policies and employee compliance. 
  • Work closely with IT to ensure data security and confidentiality, as per policy and best practices. 
  • Adherence to all essential systems and processes that are required at Ora to maintain compliance to business and regulatory requirements. 
  • Adherence to local regulations when working with outsourced vendors, benefits providers and local suppliers.

People Management

  • Represent Ora in multidisciplinary settings, assuring complete communication through participation, presenting and networking within corporation and throughout the industry. 
  • Communicate team / individual goals and expectations to ensure direct reports understand their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and bridge gaps between the local team and other Ora operational and corporate teams to promote unified and effective client delivery. 

What We Look For:

Experience needed for the Role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably as a Country Manager or in a similar capacity.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
  • Skilled in analytical evaluation, organization, delegation, flexible team management, negotiating and resource management skills. 
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural, international environment subject to continuous changes and multiple priorities.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 11. 

Additional Skills and Attributes:

  • Good leadership, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate well across time zones and with a broad network of colleagues.
  • Experience with mentoring and training diverse and multi-skilled teams, including less seasoned colleagues.
  • Experience with adding additional functions/resources into the regional organization, to improve the global operating model's efficiency and effectiveness.
