About The Team

Enterprise Cart & Checkout team is the owner of Cart & Checkout product which is backend system built to create omni channel experience for lowes customers and associates as well across the multiple selling channels digital, stores and contact center. We started journey by solving the complex problem of migrating away from licensed product to building inhouse Cart and checkout system using latest tools and modern technologies like spring webflux, MongoDb, couchDb,Kakfa, GCP cloud a few to call out. We have built this product highly scaleable, available, resilent to adahre current business needs and and extensible enough to accomudate the future needs. Team is having very healthy, competitive and collbrative enviorment striving to achieve best technology implemntations in the product.

Job Summary

The primary objective of this position is to offer advanced analytical capabilities in support of data science initiatives. The role encompasses diverse areas such as predictive modeling, personalization and recommendation algorithms, natural language processing, and text mining. Additionally, it involves addressing challenges related to search recall, precision, ranking, and other pertinent issues. The Lead Data Scientist is responsible for tackling highly complex problems within the realm of data science, often involving solutions that are not yet established in research. As an expert in the field, the individual in this role is expected to confidently propose solutions and influence the thought process and methodology of the team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Pioneering the creation of diverse analytical and machine learning models, showcasing a high degree of creative thinking and innovation.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to the team in overcoming challenges during the implementation of both functional and technical features.
  • Adopting a comprehensive approach to address all aspects of implementations, ensuring a holistic perspective in problem-solving.
  • Taking proactive initiatives and demonstrating leadership in addressing complex technical challenges within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to crafting advanced algorithms and solutions, applying thoughtful consideration before initiating any implementation.
  • Driving effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, fostering a cohesive working environment.
  • Overseeing end-to-end processes, including model development, testing, and ensuring smooth integration across various environments.
  • Validating and optimizing application performance through data-driven insights, contributing to enhanced overall efficiency.
  • Playing a crucial role in supporting production deployments and ensuring the stability of data science products, contributing to their long-term success and reliability.

Years Of Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field (or equivalent work experience) AND 6 years of experience in analytics AND 2 years of programming experience (Python, Java, Scala, Rust, etc.) OR
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field AND 3 years of experience in analytics AND 1 year of programming experience (Python, Java, Scala, Rust, etc.) OR
  • Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field AND 2 years of experience in analytics.

Education Qualification & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master Degree or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science

Skill Set Required

  • 6+ years of analytics experience.
  • 2+ years of programming experience (Python, Java, Scala, Rust, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SQL and various statistical modeling or machine learning techniques.
  • Experience in performing predictive analytics at a large scale enterprise.
  • Experience in data science or advanced analytics in the industry.
  • Experience using multiple data systems and sources (Hadoop, Spark, Aster, Teradata, etc.).
  • Experience using Airflow workflow management platform for data engineering pipelines.
  • Experience using Trino distributed SQL query engine and Spark SQL.
