Role Name: Software Development Manager

Role Profile
. In this role, you-ll be joining our Primary Markets team within the Capital Markets Division as a Software Development Manager, responsible for developing multiple customer facing portals.
The successful candidate will:
. Manage several multi-function teams, developing new portals, adding new features, refactoring existing portals, performing bug fixes, and technical support on existing systems.
. Lead the team, promoting an inclusive and open culture, hold responsibility for motivation, retention and performance management, and lead by example.
. Not be required to hands on coding, but the successful candidate should be comfortable with driving the addition of new functionality, in-depth architectural and procedural discussions and continuous improvement.
. Be a technical enthusiast with a good knowledge of modern tooling.
Tech Profile/Essential Skills
. 5+ years' experence on managing a development team and supporting time sensitive production environments sucessfully.
. 5+ years' hands on development experience using a high level language such as C++, C#, Java.
. 5+ years' of hands on experience with commercial databases (e.g. Sybase,SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
. 2+ years' working with systems running on a major cloud service provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google).
. Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple production systems support and enhancement, and encourage coworkers to do the same
. Ability to manage recruitment, training and performance management, including coaching and mentoring.
. Good understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented design.
. Good understanding of Agile development process and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc.)
. Strong sense of core system support and customer satisfaction.
. Strong communication & articulation skills. Solid English reading/writing capabil ity.
Preferred Skills and Experience
. Familiar with web application servers (e.g. Apache, Nginx), and DevOps tools. (e.g. CI/CD, GIT, etc.).
. Financial Markets domain knowledge.
. Financial Market Industry product development.
. Ability to support the Production Support team for escalation of critical issues.
Education and Professional Skills
. Professional qualification or equivalent.
. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
Detailed Responsibilities
. Demonstrates knowledge of technologies within LSEG and how they relate to various parts of the business.
. Lead agile development teams working on web portals, refactoring existing systems to improve stability, performance, cost etc, support of live systems, bug fixes, and technical support.
. Promote an inclusive and open culture, holding responsibility for motivation, retention and performance management, and leads by example.
. Build and define learning and development plans for teams and individuals.
. Steer architectural and process decisions by the team to ensure good outcomes.
. Leads the delivery of important projects, ensuring team members are productive and operate with little direction delegate and review work when required ensure excellence.
. Manage the creation of technology roadmaps for systems and represent these to the product owner for inclusion in product roadmaps.
. Build trusting relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team.
. Communicates with clarity and precision in a concise format.
. Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
