Research Associate Location: India – Mumbai, Vile Parle East Employment Type: Full Time Salary: 4,20,200 INR to 8,40,000 INR per annum Closing date of applications : 12th April 2024 JOB OVERVIEW Metals Focus is looking to add a talented and motivated junior analyst to our team. The role will offer the opportunity to use your skills to collate, analyse and communicate data on the precious metals markets. In addition, the position involves the communication of our research in both verbal and written forms to our contacts, clients and publication readerships. For the right person, an analyst role at Metals Focus will provide the opportunity to become part of a dynamic and international team. We specialise in research into the global gold, silver, platinum and palladium markets, producing regular reports, forecasts, proprietary data and bespoke consultancy. While Metals Focus’ head office is in London, we are represented in a number of key locations for the precious metals market, including China, Taiwan, India, Turkey, Singapore and the Philippines. The quality of Metals Focus’ work is underpinned by a combination of top-quality desk-based analysis coupled with an extensive program of travel to generate ’ bottom-up’ research for our databases, forecast reports, and consultancy services. Our analysts regularly travel to the major markets, speaking to contacts from across the value chain, from producers to end-users, to obtain first-hand and unique information. Responsibilities Maintain spreadsheets for the India and wider team of analysts, Update charts and tables in a wide variety of reports and presentations, Deal with client queries from across the company, Monitor market trends, maintain regular interaction with key contacts, and attend industry events (seminars, conferences, and trade shows), Provide regular data updates, detailed meeting reports and other regular reports; weekly, monthly, and other ad hoc work that may arise, Perform analysis and interpretation of data to contribute to the production of our written reports. This will involve managing the timely delivery of written work for these publications, Work closely with the Indian team to produce the India Monthly, the India Chartbook and their text for other reports, Contribute to team discussions on the market outlook across precious metals, Travel to collect precious metals data, research, and analysis across India, Build own contacts in the industry while also leveraging on Metals Focus’ existing relationships. Qualifications, Essential Skills and Experience Must be a post graduate; in Economics, Finance or other numerate/related disciplines. Minimum of 2-3 years experience in the commodities market, Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong logical thinking and attention to detail. Excellent standard of written and spoken English, Working knowledge of Bloomberg, Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team, Ability to set up, manage and take responsibility for delivering projects to strict deadlines, Confident at presenting, networking and speaking; with an ability to communicate ideas and arguments in a positive and effective manner, Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop and maintain relationships with a network of industry contacts, Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, A quick learner who takes action and gets things done, Ability to develop new methods of working and introduce new ideas. Desired Skills and Experience A strong understanding of the global commodity and financial markets. Metals industry experience. Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.Job tags
