Job description

ROLE:

To contribute to the overall development of Academics – Students, Teachers and Curriculum and Co-Curriculum development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Minimum 2-4 years, handling relevant subject for Primary level

Education : Graduate in any discipline with MTT(Montessori Teacher Training)

Qualifications:

Relevant UG with MTT(Montessori Teacher Training) is preferred.

Previous teaching experience in a montessori environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students.

Effective classroom management skills.

Proficiency in using educational technology and classroom tools.

Commitment to professional growth and development.

Skills:

● Grasp the developmental milestones, needs, and characteristics of primary aged children.

● Convey information clearly and empathetically to students, parents, and administration.

● Familiarity with the primary school curriculum and the ability to adapt it to diverse learning needs.

● Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, handle disruptions, and ensure student safety.

● Understand and appreciate diverse family structures, cultures, and backgrounds, ensuring inclusive teaching practices.

● Develop engaging lesson plans that cater to the varied learning styles of students.

● Ability to handle the unique challenges of young learners with patience and understanding.

● Allocate and utilize time for lesson planning, grading, and other tasks, ensuring timely completion of responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Montessori Teacher:

Classroom Management: Create and maintain a prepared Montessori environment conducive to learning and exploration. Implement Montessori principles and techniques to foster independence and self-directed learning.

Curriculum Implementation: Design and execute developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on the Montessori philosophy. Introduce Montessori materials and activities that promote sensorial, practical life, language, math, and cultural development.

Observation and Assessment: Conduct regular observations to understand each child's interests, strengths, and areas for growth. Use assessment tools to track and document individual student progress.

Individualized Instruction: Provide individualized support to students based on their unique learning styles and needs. Encourage a love for learning through hands-on experiences and exploration.

Parent Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with parents, providing insights into their child's development and achievements. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and share observations on student growth.

Classroom Environment: Organize and maintain a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing classroom environment. Arrange materials in an accessible and inviting manner to encourage independent exploration.

Professional Development: Stay updated on Montessori education principles, attending workshops and conferences for continuous professional growth. Collaborate with other Montessori teachers to share best practices and ideas.

Elementary Montessori Teacher:

Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive Montessori elementary curriculum, integrating subjects such as language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and cultural studies. Develop interdisciplinary projects that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.

Differentiated Instruction: Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of elementary students. Foster a love for learning by creating a challenging and stimulating academic environment.

Project-Based Learning: Facilitate project-based learning experiences that allow students to explore topics in-depth and make connections between different subject areas. Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students.

Assessment and Feedback: Implement various assessment methods to evaluate student progress and understanding. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.

Parental Involvement: Foster strong partnerships with parents through regular communication, newsletters, and parent involvement in classroom activities. Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student achievements and areas for growth.

Cultural and Social Awareness: Integrate cultural studies and social awareness activities into the curriculum to promote global understanding. Emphasize character education, empathy, and respect for diversity.

Outdoor Education: Incorporate outdoor education experiences to connect classroom learning with the natural environment. Utilize the school grounds for hands-on learning and exploration.

Professional Collaboration: Collaborate with other elementary Montessori teachers, administrators, and specialists to enhance the overall educational experience. Participate in professional learning communities and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
