Title : Deputy Manager/Manager Logistics Jhagadia

Overview

This position is responsible to lead logistics team, identify and implement optimization measures in logistics, ensure timely and accurately dispatch of products to customers.

Duties And Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead logistics team at Jhagadia, manage and optimize logistics costs
  • Implement world class logistics management processes
  • Develop strategies to streamline logistics and reduce costs

Performance

  • Coordinate with sales/customer service to plan dispatches .
  • Set up processes to manage performance of logistics service providers
  • Logistics Spend Management and benchmarking
  • Freight recovery from customers based on sales order freight and freight paid to customers
  • Provide inputs to selection and qualification of logistics service providers
  • Elimination of demurrage and detention charges
  • Monitor warehouse spend and freight cost per ton on monthly basis and take corrective actions if the targets are not met
  • Ensure proper dispatch process is followed e.g. staging, loading as per the batch number of invoice & stacking of material before dispatch after preparation of all documents, packaging in good condition
  • Implement FIFO and 5S in warehouse
  • Finished Goods inventory and monthly/periodic Cycle counts should be implemented and be proactive to avoid write offs of materials

EHS and compliance

  • Conduct audits for logistics service providers as well as for external warehouses
  • Ensure hygiene of the warehouse and logistics assets are handled and maintained properly.
  • Demonstrate high level of ethical standard in handling transporters and ensure timely documentation and payment to service providers.
  • Statutory compliance in transportation and warehousing
  • EHS compliance in internal and external warehouses
  • To strictly follow the systems and procedure as per ISO 9001 and 14001

Qualifications/Experience

A Degree / Diploma and professional qualification in logistics management is preferred

10-15 years experience in logistics function with B2C market and B2B market.

Competencies required

Functional

  • Good supply chain knowledge.
  • Good logistics and geographical knowledge.
  • Good understanding on import and export process

Behavioural

  • Excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Good written and verbal communication capability
  • Good knowledge of Axapta or ERP system.
  • Excellent functional co-ordination capability.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience:

A Degree / Diploma and professional qualification in logistics management is preferred
