Job description
As a big data analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can help drive business strategies and decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to gather data requirements, develop analytical models, and generate reports and visualizations. Your expertise in statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization will contribute to improving business processes, optimizing performance, and identifying opportunities for growth.
Key Responsibilities : Data Collection and Processing: Collaborate with data engineers to identify and acquire relevant data from various sources, including databases, data warehouses, APIs, and external datasets. Clean, transform, and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compatibility for analysis. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Apply statistical techniques, data mining algorithms, and machine learning models to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights. Identify patterns, trends, and correlations in the data and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance. Perform ad-hoc analysis and hypothesis testing to address specific business questions and challenges. Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders. Create clear and concise data visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and interactive displays, to facilitate understanding and decision-making. Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including management, to drive data-informed decisions. Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data integrity, quality, and security throughout the data analysis process. Collaborate with data governance teams to define data standards, policies, and best practices for data management and analysis. Conduct data validation and verification to ensure accuracy and consistency of results. Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in big data analysis. Explore new analytical tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance data analysis capabilities. Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, insights, and best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as data science, computer science, statistics, or mathematics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply statistical concepts and algorithms to real-world data. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with big data processing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or SQL. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js. Knowledge of database systems, data modeling, and SQL. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings into clear and actionable insights. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets. Experience with machine learning algorithms and techniques is a plus. Knowledge of cloud platforms and big data technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, is beneficial.Job tags
