Job description
Your Responsibilities
- Support and advice to Operating Units and Hitachi Energy country organization in all legal matters (contract law, corporate law, and antitrust law), except for tax matters. Hands-on experience in review of tender documents, providing comments relating to EPC major utilities construction/ engineering/ HVDC projects.
- Enforcement and protection of the legal interests of Operating Units for or against claims and lawsuits in state or arbitral court or with administrative authorities. Observation of legal development in various fields, and training of Hitachi Energy employees Observation of Hitachi Energy internal legal regulations and training of Hitachi Energy employees. Support and recommendations to Operating Units for implementation of Hitachi Energy Group Directives and Instructions etc.
- Support to Operating Units in Hitachi Energy internal Risk Reviews (legal and consortium section).
- Support to Operation Units in negotiations of Contracts with customers and suppliers Support and advice to Operating Units in integrity matters in tendering and execution phase Pro-active key account management with internal clients (key accounts).
- Deputizing ad supporting other counsels in key management with internal clients. Handle and effectively manage ongoing and potential litigation of Operating Units Legal support during project execution Support and advice to Hitachi Energy counsels in other countries. Instruction and supervision of external attorneys-at-law and other legal specialists.
- Optimization of external legal costs by handling all legal advice/opinions needed by the businesses and negotiating external lawyers' fees in cases where outsourcing is needed.
- Monitor Intellectual Property, taking advice and guidance as required from colleagues within the IP function.
- Support Country Integrity Officer in integrity matters, and integrity training of Hitachi Energy employees. Support Secretarial, Corporate Legal in its day-to-day operations and Compliance function responsible to protect the reputation and compliance risk.
Your Background - Degree in Law from leading University.
- Legal generalist with flair for commercial and corporate law and litigations.
- Proficiency in English language.
- 6 years legal practice (Legal Counsel).
- Experience working within an HVDC/engineering/construction industry
