Job Overview:

Perform routine aspects of Planning, Scheduling and progress measurement independently. Applies sound knowledge of Project Controls principles. Can handle FEED or small EPC projects independently. Under supervision, performs more complex and larger portions of cost control assignments. Actively involved in creating a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to the requirements of the project under the direction of the Lead Planning Engineer
  • Prepare programs in accordance with the strategic requirements of the project
  • Incorporate interface requirements between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning as appropriate into project programs.
  • Attend regular progress meetings
  • Collect and/or update information, checking its accuracy where necessary and incorporating it into programmes. To analyze feedback from Lead Engineers and update programmes, highlighting adverse situations and seeking possible solutions.
  • Prepare planning information for reports
  • Incorporate changes to the scope of work into programmes, histograms and progress curves
  • Establish effective working relationships with appropriate project staff to assist in provision of timely and accurate program, interface and update information
  • For FEED and small EPC scopes, be able to prepare logic network schedules on any type of project (Basic E, E, P, EP, EPC, EPFC, PMC, Multi-office).
  • Be able to setup and use effective physical progress measurement based on earned value principles, using the company tools.
  • Be able to prepare an effective critical path schedule, perform analysis and make recommendations.
  • Be able to regularly analyze project planning, performance and progress data, raise issues and advise corrective action.
  • Be able to represent Project Controls Management in client discussions regarding the assigned tasks.
  • Be able to assist in performing a Monte Carlo/Pert Master schedule analysis
  • Liaise with Cost Engineer

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Advanced Technical Education (B.Sc./M.Sc. or equivalent)
  • 5-10 Years' experience in a planning & Scheduling role in Oil & Gas or in related / comparable industries
  • Good Communication skills, team player
  • Proficient in Primavera P6
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint & workable to deal with resistance, Meet deadlines and is able to handle changing needs and requirements.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of cost controls procedures and best practices. Actively develop more FEED and EPC knowledge.
