Job description

The role of the Foodservice Manager is to be the strategic thinker and direction setter for the Food Service offer. By understanding customer needs they must set the vision and strategy for the development of the Wild Bean Cafe product range including New Product Development and food safety standard management designed to maximize overall profitability from the Foodservice offer. This should be delivered by effectively influencing various key stakeholders at all levels within the retail and wider business. They must deliver tools and knowledge to create added value for customers, build long term customer and supplier relationships and contribute to contribute to turnover and profitability.

Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role:

Sets the overall vision and strategy for Food Service Offer by defining the future offer direction. Develops Category Management principles and practices for the future based on customer insight to meet ever-changing consumer demand. Creates business cases for development of the product range including for implementation and elimination of lines. Accountable for the delivery of the Foodservice sales and gross margin delivery within the plan. Manages product development of the food and drink sub-categories for WBC and food service. Develop budgets and sales forecasts for individual WBC products and on-going product reviews. Working alongside procurement defines and selects the supply base to ensure we have contracts in place for all suppliers. Manages and holds suppliers to account once contracts are in place to ensure all terms and conditions are meet. Accountable for ensuring that the company conforms to regulatory and legal requirements for our product range and that product content is consistent with overall brand objectives. Works with the marketing department to develop a communications strategy for the Food Service offer. This includes the development of the promotional and packaging guidelines for categories /products. Accountable for the audit compliance programme of food service to monitor and improve food operating standards Supports WBC and food supply chain performance and issues relating to WBC/food service Ensures safety of proprietary food products through effective processes, management of products, suppliers, recalls and development of organizational capabilities. Compliance with JV’s Code of Conduct and models Values & Behaviors. Manages a team of food and beverage experts.

Experience & Expertise (mandatory & desired):

Strong background in commercial management gained through either buying or food manufacturing, and experience of food and beverage service in a retail environment Special expertise in developing Food & Beverages menu and offer Deep knowledge of food experience with own private label product development Experience in managing 3rd party supplier relationships and negotiations experience essential. Experience of food safety management preferred Education Required - MBA Full Time Experience Required - 14+ yrs of experiences
