Responsibilities
- Research and find US State and Contractor databases.
- Keep abreast of news on seismic surveys from various sources.
- Ingest, validate and update surveys in the IRIS21 database, adhering to data quality standards.
- Participate in data improvement projects through global, country, basin or area reviews conducted by the team.
- Generation of standard seismic sheets and reference maps to support upstream intelligence daily and monthly reports, ensuring consistency between the database modules and the upstream intelligence reports.
- Support country and regional experts in resolving client queries/requests relating to seismic data.
- Obtain example images of seismic to build up a library of the North American subsurface.
- Liaise with industry partners.
What We re Looking For:
- We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious team member to join our team who will be primarily responsible for data entry, maintenance and quality control of principally North American seismic surveys within the S&P IRIS 21 relational database
- This includes research and analysis and reporting of information relating to E&P seismic surveys from a multitude of sources including direct contact with oil or contractor company personnel
- The role will be a key member of the Upstream team and is required to also participate in data projects within the region of coverage
Basic Qualifications:
- Masters in Geology, Earth Science or any related science.
- Interest in managing and handling seismic technical information.
- Ability to convert complex technical information into a usable format for entry into databases.
- Good computer skills (Windows, MS Office suite, web browsing required, knowledge of relational databases an advantage).
- Knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS) and mapping software (ArcGIS) including the basics of geodesy (datums, projections, coordinate systems, transformations).
- Good written and oral communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
- Good team player and proactive behavior. Work under direct supervision and within clearly defined guidelines of the team.
