In this role, you are responsible for
- Maintaining an internal and external presence as an eminent thought leader in full-lifecycle Software testing and test automation.
- Being hands-on with the software development teams, showing them how to solve problems, apply better techniques, practices and tools and improve the testing culture.
- Working in various ways, pairing, leading workshops, dojos, and hackathons and delivering formal training as required to help teams improve and spread practices and culture.
- Staying up to date with industry state-of-the-art and constantly improving the Software Excellence programs.
- Supporting software people and the businesses that surround them in continuous improvement of speed and quality.
- Advising on and setting up (where required) testing frameworks, building on the best-of-breed toolchains selected by Philips.
- Gathering the right metrics/data to facilitate decisions and drive meaningful outcomes.
- Getting to the root causes of problems and solving them at source, not treating the symptoms, by applying structured problem-solving techniques.
- Train and mentor other Subject Matter Experts (SME) in Businesses to grow talent and help positive changes stick.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience/ Preferred Skills:
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with impact, passion, and tact. Ability to influence without authority.
- Experience in a technical software role dealing with complex enterprise software landscapes and the equivalent technical & interpersonal maturity.
- Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in all aspects of software test and teaching, coaching, mentoring, learning, and influencing in these areas.
- Experience of multiple programming languages, OSs, infrastructures, technology stacks and product types.
- Hands-on Software development and automated testing expertise needed in any 2-3 programming languages (Java, C#, Python, C++...).
- Strong knowledge in BDD, TDD.
- Strong knowledge in Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle), and issue tracking systems
- Awareness of the intersections of business, technical and human concerns.
- Continuous Learning: As technology is always evolving, ongoing learning and keeping up with the latest testing advancements and tools is crucial.
In addition to the above:
This role has specialties in supporting software testing and test automation and has the following requirements.
- Designing, improving, and executing training in test automation.
- Advocating the benefits of world class test automation across the organization.
- Supporting businesses in the creation, improvement and execution of their continuous improvement plans for test automation.
- Hands in experience of property-based testing.
- Maintaining and expanding an internal and external community profile for Philips test automation.
- Leading the modernization of legacy test culture to best-of-breed tooling and practices, delivering dramatic improvements in quality and time to market.
- Determining level of test excellence among teams.
