Job description

The Logistics Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the movement of goods, resources, and information within an organization's supply chain. This position requires strong leadership skills, analytical abilities, and a keen understanding of logistics operations.

Responsibilities Supply Chain Management : Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to customers. Coordinate with various departments to streamline processes and optimize supply chain performance. Inventory Management : Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels. Implement inventory control measures to minimize excess inventory and stock-outs. Transportation Coordination : Arrange transportation for incoming and outgoing shipments, negotiating contracts with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs. Track shipments and address any issues or delays that arise. Warehouse Management : Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods. Implement best practices for warehouse layout, organization, and inventory management to maximize efficiency and minimize errors. Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing logistics operations, including customs regulations, transportation safety requirements, and environmental regulations. Mitigate risks associated with logistics activities by implementing appropriate controls and contingency plans. Vendor Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, carriers, and other service providers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure favorable terms and pricing. Reporting and Analysis : Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and transportation costs. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional) may be preferred. Proven experience in logistics management, with a strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively leading and developing teams. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to logistics operations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
