Responsibilities: As an SQL Developer at Blenheim Chalcot, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining SQL database solutions for our ventures. You will work closely with cross- functional teams to understand data requirements, optimize queries, and ensure data accuracy and security.
- Design and implement database structures to support application requirements
- Develop, test, and deploy efficient SQL queries and stored procedures
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in collaboration with development teams
- Create and maintain data models to represent business processes and ensure data consistency
- Collaborate with application developers to integrate database designs seamlessly
- Implement and enforce data security measures to protect sensitive information
- Ensure data integrity through the implementation of proper constraints and validation checks
- Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and business analysts to understand and address data-related requirements
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure best practices
Must have: - 3-7 years of hands-on experience as an SQL Developer in a professional setting.
- Strong SQL skills and experience in database query building (SQL server ideal)
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, Stored procedures, and optimising database performance.
- Strong understanding of relational database management systems, specifically Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and data encryption.
- Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice to have: - Hands-on experience on SQL Server development/ETL using T-SQL and SSIS
- Good to have knowledge on open-source databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, appropriate judgement, and decision-making skill and strong attention to detail
- Experience with Source Code Control systems like GIT or Team Foundation Server
- Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases
- Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
