Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective storage, handling, and distribution of goods. The Operations Manager will lead a diverse team of supervisors, managers, and team leads, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain exceptional customer service levels.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a team of warehouse operations specialists, ensuring high levels of productivity, engagement, and development.
- Overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put away, picking, packing, shipping, and delivering products to customers.
- Implementing and optimizing warehouse layout, workflow, and processes to maximize space utilization, improve cycle times, and minimize errors.
- Establishing and monitoring KPIs related to efficiency, accuracy, and safety, identifying trends, and taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting regular inspections, and promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Coordinating with transportation and logistics teams to establish optimal delivery schedules, routes, and modes.
- Continuous improvement efforts, including automating manual processes, adopting innovative technologies, and exploring Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Maintaining positive relationships with external partners, carriers, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration into the supply chain network.
- Communicating regularly with senior management regarding progress, challenges, and recommendations for enhancing warehouse operations.
- Completing annual performance evaluations for direct reports, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth and development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a warehouse operations management role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a diverse team.
- In-depth understanding of warehouse best practice, labor relation, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of improving efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with team members, customers, and partners.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.
- Availability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
