Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting a leading global engineering solutions provider who are working in partnership with some of the world’s most influential names in the Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Tech, Energy, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Rail and Semi-Conductor industries.


We are seeking a number of Network Engineers to join their team in support of one of the world’s leading Defence company on a permanent or contract basis. Due to security clearance requirements the role will be based onsite 4 days a week, applicants can either work from home 1 day per week or compress their hours into 4 days.

The Role:

The Network Engineer will carry out network architectural and / or network detailed design tasks associated with designing for the sub-sea environment; specifically, the design, configuration, test and troubleshooting of network configurations within a system or interconnected subsystems.



Key responsibilities include:

Satisfy the requirement set through design and development activities.

Implement the network architecture in physical form, fit and function.

Define the Network Test and Acceptance Specifications.

Demonstrate compliance to the requirements set through integration, verification and validation activities including production of Test Reports and certificates. Network Architect / Engineer

Develop and agree a Work Package Plan and Schedule with the relevant xEM and then take responsibility for completion of the assigned Work Package tasks in accordance with the Plan and Schedule, requesting assistance as needed.

Carry out network engineering activities in a team / multi-stakeholder / multi-discipline environment.

Support colleagues working in the team throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide support for trials and integration as required.


The Person

Due to security clearance requirements the role will be based onsite 4 days a week, applicants can either work from home 1 day per week or compress their hours into 4 days. 
You will be a self-starter who is able to utilise your experience and knowledge within architectural network design and monitor compliance of designs against system / subsystem derived and allocated requirements.


The successful individual will have full engineering lifecycle experience (Capture, Design, Implementation, Test) whilst working with requirements in a structured and evidential manner. You will be required to produce design & test specifications, configuration records and monitor performance against agreed commitments to time, cost and quality.



Experience Required for the Network Engineer:

Experience in LAN/WAN administration

Good all-round technical Networking Knowledge / Project Engineering background.

Designing IP based Networks.

Network security, using ACLs, Stateful Firewalls and Stateless Firewalls

Solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack

Solid understanding of the ISO protocol stack

Understanding of Layer 3 routing protocols including OSPF and Multicast PIM

Linux experience (command line/scripting)

Requirements Management and Development Skills.
