JOB TITLE: Packaging Raw Material Trader LOCATION : Marol, Mumbai, India DEPARTMENT : Packaging Raw Material Trading REPORTS TO : Business Development Manager, India Background of organization- Established in 1977, Longulf specialises in supplying Raw Materials and Machinery to meet the needs of manufacturing companies. For suppliers, we offer a secure and valuable channel into alternative markets and place goods advantageously with competitive pricing. Overview The jobholder will operate from Longulf’s Representative office in Mumbai. The focus of the job holder is to maintain existing relationships & develop suppliers and customers. The job holder is also responsible for keeping the London office & Business Development Manager in Mumbai office informed in an organised and regular manner about developments in the market. A proactive attitude is essential & the job holder must liaise closely to ensure views & comply needs are best met and represented. Products: Plastic resins (Polymers, PET /PP etc..) Chemicals, Paper, BOPP/BOPET/packaging films , Tinplate, Aluminium foil/slugs. Frequent international & domestic travel is required to visit suppliers and customer. Eligibility Criteria Min 7 years’ experience in international trading business. Min 3 years' international travel experience. Fluency on any foreign language will be an advantage but not essential. Candidates with trading experience in Africa & Middle East experience will get preference. Able to multi-task. Able to build relationships with customers and suppliers. Team player and ability to work with different nationalities. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Travel to overseas field offices, suppliers, and customers. Willingness to learn about various packaging raw materials products and sector. Knowledge import/export procedures including Incoterms. Key deliverables (Essential duties and responsibilities) Develop, Maintain & Strengthen relationship with new & existing suppliers & Customers. Lead negotiation with suppliers and customers on price, delivery lead time and quality requirement. Work closely with stakeholders of contract from start to end for timely and smooth execution of orders. Liaise with head office, logistics, account and documentary team and regional overseas offices on daily basis. Setting sales & sourcing plan in alignment with key business objectives agreed and ensure those are achieved. Identification of potential with existing & new customers and suppliers to ensure budgeted growth and new business development. Addressing supplier and customer complaints and ensure time resolution of same in defined time. Take active role in dispute resolution and mitigation of claims which may arise from time to time. Analyzing market trend & potential, discover new opportunities for growth and close eye on competitor’s activities in market and brief manager and team accordingly. Maintaining and increasing sales trend with timely collection of payments. Provide monthly progress reports on business prospect, customer inquiries, supplier status to line manager and HQ. Develop & execute commercial and technical product presentation to stakeholders. Deliver high level of customer service through value added sales techniques concentrating on multitude of business sectors. Any other task assigned on time to time based on work related priorities.
