Job description

Iskraemeco India Private Limited is urgently looking for Lead Designer-Mechanical for Kolkata & Mysore location preferably from Energy Metering domain.

Basic Qualification- BE/BTECH. (7-12 years) or Diploma (10-15 years) in Mechanical Engineering with experience of working in industrial electronics industry preferably Energy Metering

Responsibilities: -

1. Design and development of smart meter products including communication modules as per Indian metering standards (IS) and IEC standards.

2. Prototype development and verification for design compliance

3. DFA and DFM with suppliers for plastic and metal parts

4. Working closely with hardware designers, layout engineers for hardware-mechanical integration

5. Creation of 2D drawings of components, sub-assemblies and products.

6. Performing tolerance analysis for part and assembly level

7. Material selection for plastic and metal parts as per product requirement

8. Verification and validation of parts & sub-assembly and product.

Skills:-

1. Design and development of plastic & metal parts for electro-mechanical products.
2. Expertise in the use of 3D modelling software preferred (Solidworks).
3. Knowledge of mould flow result interpretation & basic mould design
4. Experience of working closely with local and global suppliers for prototypes and design optimization.
5. In-depth understanding of Machining parts, Surface treatments, finish / coatings (Metals), joining techniques viz. Soldering, Brazing, Riveting, Crimping, and other manufacturing processes.
6. Knowledge of good drafting practice including geometric tolerance processes, and technologies.
7. Knowledge of IS and IEC standards related to smart meters will be preferred.
8. Knowledge of Material Selection
