Job description
Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Process Plant (Wastewater/Chemicals) Job Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in transformers, LV panels, lighting design, cable sizing, and grounding calculations to join our team. This position focuses on the electrical aspects of process plants, particularly in the fields of wastewater and chemicals. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical systems for our cutting-edge projects. Responsibilities: Electrical System Design: Develop detailed designs for transformers, LV panels, lighting systems, and cable sizing for process plants. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with overall plant designs. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Lighting Design: Design and implement efficient and effective lighting systems for process plant environments. Conduct lighting calculations and simulations to optimize illumination. Cable Sizing and Management: Perform cable sizing calculations based on load requirements and safety standards. Develop cable management strategies for optimal organization and maintenance. Grounding Calculations: Conduct grounding calculations to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical systems. Implement grounding solutions in compliance with industry best practices. Transformers and LV Panels: Design and specify transformers and LV panels for process plant applications. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the procurement of high-quality electrical components. Safety and Compliance: Prioritize and uphold safety standards in all electrical engineering activities. Stay current with industry regulations and standards related to electrical systems in process plants. Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental teams to ensure a safe working environment. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical designs, calculations, and analyses. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular project status updates to management and project teams. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on transformers, LV panels, lighting design, cable sizing, and grounding calculations. Proficiency in electrical design software and tools. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEC, etc.). Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and advancements. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS). Experience with SCADA systems. Project management experience.
