Job description
Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies tailored to the fabrication industry, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials while maintaining quality standards.
Supplier Management: Identify, assess, and onboard suppliers/vendors within the fabrication sector, focusing on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Foster and maintain strong relationships to ensure a stable supply chain.
Negotiation: Conduct negotiations with suppliers/vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements aligned with budgetary constraints and quality expectations.
Purchase Orders: Generate, review, and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and fabrication specifications.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize stock levels, minimize stock outs, and reduce holding costs while meeting fabrication production schedules.
Quality Assurance: Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure that procured materials meet rigorous quality standards and fabrication specifications.
Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies within the fabrication industry to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and correspondence. Generate reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
