Roles & Responsibilities:
Conduct Hazardous area classification study for various Industrial sectors pharma FMCG Petrochemical paint oil and gas and refineries
o HAC study by Point source method Example blanketing and riskbased
o Able to perform calculations and prepare source data sheets in line with various standards. Calculate source extent for various sources of releases.
o Knowledge of International standards IEC 60079 NFPA 497 IP 15 NFPA 499 API 505 and OISD 113
o Selection of equipment and preparation of equipment specification appropriate for the zones
o Handson experience with HAC software Quadvent/Aloha/Phast
o Inspection of Explosionproof equipment according to IEC 60079 will be an added advantage
Perform electrostatic hazard assessment for various industrial operations
o Understanding the flammability ignition sensitivity and electrostatic properties of the gas(es) liquid(s) and dust(s)
o Identifying the charge generation/retention at various stages of the process and review of the existing measures to eliminate and/ or control electrostatic ignition hazards
o Recommendation on practical measures to eliminate and/or control the potential of the static caused fires and/or explosions
o Knowledge of International standards NFPA 77 IECAPI 2003
Conduct Dust Hazard analysis according to NFPA 652 654 standards
o DHA by prescriptive method Risk assessment
o Ability to understand the combustible dust characteristics of the material handled and correlate with the process
o Identify potential ignition sources perform risk assessment documentation of results and provide recommendations to prevent and mitigate potential fire flash fire and explosion hazards.
Conduct ignition risk Assessment for nonelectrical installations according to IECstandards.
