Job Title: Head of Bakery Unit

Location: Ahmedabad

Nature of work: Full-time

Experience required: 4-5 years in a similar position; 10+ years in a leadership role(s)

This Bakery is the food enterprise of NPO that aims to provide nutritious homestyle food prepared using authentic/traditional cooking techniques. It also strengthens the role of women in agri-food systems. Bakery also aims to educate and create awareness in urban communities about green lifestyles. The green lifestyle here refers to ways of lifestyle embedded in the consumption of organic and food produced through traditional ways. Bakery is a diversified business a Rural Development Company.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Visionary Leadership:
    • Develop, communicate, and implement the vision, mission, and overall direction for the Bakery unit.
    • Work closely with the Bakery CEO to align bakery unit goals with the organization's objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage with critical external stakeholders to identify opportunities for expanding the Bakery unit within Bakery Centers.
    • Foster partnerships with district associations, donors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Bakery units, ensuring smooth functioning.
    • Implement strategies for efficient bakery operations, considering quality, production, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with the CEO to establish short-term objectives and long-range goals for the Bakery unit.
    • Develop plans and policies to drive the successful expansion of Bakery services.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team, ensuring effective communication and cooperation among bakery staff.
    • Provide hands-on training and guidance to staff members, especially in the marketing department.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
    • Ensure high customer satisfaction by implementing measures such as surveys, feedback systems, and reviews.
    • Collaborate with the marketing department to enhance the Bakery unit's visibility and customer engagement.
Duties/Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight:
    • Oversee the financial structure of the Bakery unit, ensuring sound funding aligned with the mission and goals.
    • Review financial results, compare them with objectives, and take corrective measures as needed.
  • Partnership Building:
    • Build trusted relations with key partners and stakeholders relevant to Bakery operations.
    • Act as a point of contact for district associations, and other relevant entities.
  • Compliance and Negotiations:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards for Bakery operations.
    • Collaborate with the CEO on negotiations related to Bakery unit actions, such as expansions or partnerships.
  • Representation:
    • Serve as the representative for the Bakery unit in dealings with the board of directors, shareholders, employees, customers, and the public.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create a positive public image for the Bakery unit.
  • Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
    • Present regular reports on the status of the Bakery unit's operations to the CEO and relevant stakeholders.
    • Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement strategies for enhanced efficiency.
  • Mission-Driven Initiatives:
    • Perform other duties and initiatives that align with the mission of the organization, contributing to the overall success of Bakery units.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles within the bakery or food industry.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Hands-on experience in bakery operations and marketing.

Note: This position involves hands-on responsibilities, particularly in training and leading the marketing department, and requires a proactive approach to achieve the Bakery unit's expansion goals within Centers.
