Our client is one of the world s largest producers of canned soup. It is also a major producer of canned pasta products; and snack foods such as cookies and crackers etc. The company s products are sold in over 100 countries around the world. It merchandises and sells products through retail food chains mass merchandisers mass discounters club stores drug stores and noncommercial establishments etc.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Overview:

Our client is looking for a Food Scientist to join the team and provide technical expertise to help their organization create better food products and improve the packaging they use for the food that they sell.

A Food Scientist s responsibilities include using chemistry to improve the flavour and texture of food products meanwhile cut down the cost. Ultimately one will work with a team of Engineers to help the organization stay ahead of the competition and develop new product innovations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Researching new costreducing manufacturing processes that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Communicating with relevant parties regarding food quality and safety concerns.

Utilizing formulation software to create and update formulations.

Working on new products from conceptualization to launch.

Arranging and shipping sales samples.

Updating product information sheets for sales preparation and updated labels.

Recording analyzing and summarizing research data.

Coordinating independent laboratory testing.

Updating and maintaining the MRP system.

Adhering to GMP and other safety regulations.

Requirements

Profile Requirements

Bachelor s degree in agricultural science biology chemistry or a related field.

Ability to use internal and external sources to make technical scientific advances.

2 years of experience working as a Food Scientist or a related role; Relevant training and/or certifications are a plus.

Fluency in Hindi and English; knowledge of another language is a plus.

Basic knowledge and understanding of data science.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Willingness to travel overnight and to work night and weekend shifts for special projects.

Profile Requirements: BSc degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus. Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar role. Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff. Ability to stand and walk for a long time. Familiarity with restaurant mainstream management and take-out software/application.
