Job description
As an Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable/Receivable you will have a wide range of responsibilities critical to OP's operations. This role will lead the day-to-day accounting functions and help shape the department and organizational processes as OP continues to grow and change significantly in the years to come.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely client invoices (60+) working with our Success teams.
- Perform all duties and functions to support payment of invoices by verifying and completing receivable and payable transactions by the US Laws.
- Troubleshoot issues with payments working with our Success teams and clients.
- Work with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely profitability reporting.
- Ensure all daily and monthly accounting activities are completed.
- Perform timely preparation and/or review of all journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and operate effective internal controls as well as thorough procedural documentation.
- Complete validation reports and provide solutions (strong Excel skills).
- Complete payments as needed, account reconciliations, and trend analysis.
- Support documentation and SOP of new areas.
- Support key company and department initiatives.
Qualification/ Must haves:
- Accounting experience (5 yrs minimum).
- Advanced Excel skills (formula across multiple worksheets, vlookup, pivots, etc).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- Proficient Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to timelines and deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- General Accounting experience.
- AP AR Experience.
- ERP Experience.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
- Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
- Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
- Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
