As a Business Analyst, the primary role is to develop and maintain economic models for the Fiscal Model Library (FML) using commercial economics and risk software package, Merak Peep. The FML is used by both internal and external clients including international oil companies, national oil companies, government agencies, and non-operational investment groups.
Additionally, the successful candidate is also expected to apply economic modeling skills to Planning Space, next-generation corporate planning, economics, strategy, and reserves platform.
And other duties as assigned.
What to Bring:
Bachelors or (optional) Masters degree in Petroleum or Mineral Economics, Petroleum Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Accounting
0-5 years economic, fiscal, or financial modelling experience
Familiarity with fiscal mechanisms within international petroleum contracts; Production Sharing Agreements, Royalty and Tax Contracts, Service Agreements, etc.
Previous knowledge of Merak PEEP, Planning Space or Palantir CASH cx would be an advantage.
Modelling: Model various fiscal and financial regimes using the Merak Peep economics software package, using the standards of the FML.
Research: Maintain a current view of activities pertaining to the adjusting legal environment in which exploration and production contracts are developed through individual monitoring of companies , organizations , and legislative activities.
Support: Provide expert assistance to internal and external clients on the use and foundations of models within the library and general Merak queries to help them effectively use the FML.
Training: Provide live classroom or remote-based training on the domain of petroleum economics, and on the use and development of models developed for the FML.
Communication: Obtain client feedback to improve the quality our models, software and implementations through day-to-day contacts and client quality meetings then passing this knowledge to our developers as well as other consulting resources across the organization.
Delivery: As a member of the FML development team, the analyst will share responsibility for the delivery of semi-annual updates to the commercially available Library. This includes an active role in documentation, peer review of models, regression testing, sanity testing, quality assurance, working with software engineers and release of the product.
Business Development Support: Coordinates with our global sales team to support technical sales through expert demos and pilot projects.
