MS SQL Server Admin
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate SQL DBA Admin to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide operational support for MSSQL DBA and it's services, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and system monitoring, to maintain a healthy system.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform SQL administrative tasks including installing and upgrading SQL server products, creating maintenance plans, and creating database objects.
- Install, configure and deploy MS SQL Server. Perform capacity planning, performance turning, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization of the databases
- Prepares users by conducting training providing information resolving problems
- Designing and running system load/stress testing escalating application problems to vendors
- Standardize and manage Database Administrator procedures for monitoring database performance, testing, archiving, and optimizing.
- Maintenance and support of SQL server Mirroring, Log shipping, Clustering, and other methods of disaster recovery.
- Serve as support for database administration tasks including configuration management, backup/recovery, performance optimization, and space management
- Perform database deployments and provide support for application releases
- Assist developers with MS SQL Server issues and questions
- Interface with developers, network, virtualization, storage and systems operations teams to resolve problems with applications and database systems
- Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain database security and audit solutions
- Administer and monitor 24/7 applications and systems, developing automated alerts to warn of failure.
- Plan and Lead database development, documentation and maintenance of databases .
- Provide development and design assistance to development and other application support teams.
- Provide technical leadership to outsourced global development team thru project leadership and technical documentation and outage management.
- Establishes and builds strong working relations and partnerships with Business Units and Senior Management.

Job Title: IT Data Management Platforms Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

What you will do
As a SRE for the Data Management Platform, you'll work on ensuring application reliability and working in a true DevOps environment, ensuring that infrastructure is running smoothly, increasing efficiency through automation, and driving a culture of continuous improvement. As an IT Data Platform SRE you will have a strong background in data governance data cataloguing, data lineage preferably on Collibra tool and cloud platforms. Affinity with Data Management tools such as Informatica MDM, Collibra Data Governance Tool (Must have) and Data Access is preferable but not required. The SRE responsibilities for Data Management Platform consist of both Engineering and Operations teams into a DevOps model, rigorously investing in product and platform reliability through software best practices.
Other accountabilities:
- Work as part of DevOps team (global) to deliver world class services to our consuming businesses.
- Responsible for innovative design and implementation of enterprise data governance, data catalogue and data management platforms.
- Work closely with product team members and development partners to shape the architecture, design, and implementations of new and existing systems to enhance their reliability, performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Automation of deployment and configuration processes.
- Develop standardized approaches, patterns and blueprints to secure design, scripted deployment, and maintenance tasks.
- Build and scale the technology infrastructure through SRE best practices.
- Techno-Functional role in building the Metamodel, Business Glossary, Reference Data, Data Catalog, Policy Manager, Scorecards and Data Governance Workflows .
- Creating enterprise level Data Governance Operating Model for large organizations using Data Catalog (preferably Collibra).
- Responsible for delivering smooth operations of Data Management Tools specifically Collibra Data Governance
- Involved in Data Governance steering committee meetings with clients to finalize Data Governance Strategy and Roadmap.
- Creating enterprise level Data Governance Operating Model for large organizations using Collibra and Designed data governance policies, rules & process flows for Glossary, Metadata, Lineage &Stewardship.
- Design assessment questionnaire covering data management knowledge areas and sub areas. E.g., data governance, data quality, data architecture, data security etc.
- Worked on defining Master Data, Reference Data and Data Lineage using Collibra Data Catalog.
- Collaborated with IT team to prioritize and address issues and opportunities regarding data sourcing, business rules, data aggregation, data distribution, and data consumption.
- Manage data issues, as needed, and medium to large data management-related projects of varying levels of scope and complexity.
- Developing POC(s) around Data Quality and Business Asset Cataloging and integration with 3rd Party Systems.
- Provide support technical incidents via troubleshooting, timely escalation, pro-active monitoring, problem management and delivers automation and improvement initiatives (reliability, performance, cost) in close collaboration with Application suppliers as well as Software vendors, including SaaS vendors like Informatica and Collibra
- Product stability, compliance, and security, enabled through the Operational Readiness Framework (ORF) and automation of ORF tasks and evidence.
What we need from you
- Typical Years of Experience: 7 to 9 years in IT
- Minimum Education or Certification: Engineering Degree or MCA
- Proven ability to deliver results in a matrix organization driving delivery excellence through influence and team working
- Consultant mindset - must be constantly thinking about how the status quo could be improved
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude to problem-solving and have excellent analytical & communication capabilities. Should be able to identify common technical and operational problems, evaluate potential solutions and provide relevant advice
- Ability to take end-to-end accountability with minimal support
- Language: Fluent in English (oral and written)
Key Technical Skills:
- Proven track record in managing data projects with hands-on experience on database, data management and data cataloguing.
- End to end understanding of building Metamodel, Business Glossary, Reference Data, Data Catalog, Policy Manager, Scorecards and Data Governance Workflows on Collibra.
- Key technologies in scope are : Collibra Enterprise Data Catalogue(Must have ) and Cloud platforms (AWS/ Azure), SaaS.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of APIs, Micro-services, Containers, Data Mesh, Data Products, VMs etc
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Good understanding of SAFe, Agile/Edge, DevOps project methodologies.
- Experience of translating business requirements into technical implementations based on value drivers, functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
- Experience with scripting and automation (Infrastructure as Code), Microsoft PowerShell, Terraform and CI/CD pipeline is a plus.
- Experience with source code management and familiarity with source control tools and repositories such as Github, Azure Devops etc is a plus.
