Department Profile

• The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm-wide risk management and risk reduction. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
• Team Profile
• The group is responsible for leading the Basel standards implementation and RWA infrastructure transformation, working closely with Finance, Technology, Capital Planning, Risk, and the business unit to deliver the critical Basel 3 Endgame regulatory initiative.
• Basel III Endgame (B3E) is the latest update to global capital standards and a significant change to the current US risk-based capital framework.
• US regulators have proposed July 2025 for compliance with the new requirements
• Banks have approximately two years to interpret the new rules, assess their impact, address new data and tech needs, and adjust business strategies.
• B3E is a chance to modernize capital infrastructure: updating tech, becoming more agile, and addressing inefficiencies to lower operating costs.

Qualifications

The Capital Data Team supports the Regulatory Capital Controllers and Capital Planning through data management activities focused on data quality outcomes including, but not limited to, data quality monitoring, data issues management, cataloging, and data sourcing from firm golden sources for key regulatory implementations such as Basel 3 End Game.

The Role

In the role, you will:

• Interact regularly with the Heads of Regulatory Capital across the globe representing bank holding company, the Americas and EMEA regions, and their teams
• Collaborate across multiple teams to support strategic initiatives and priorities of Regulatory Controllers such as process simplification, enhanced data monitoring, and management tools
• Create and maintain data management tools including DQ metrics and data catalog for Capital Data
• Analyze data for the purposes of advancing the data quality agenda as needed
• Manage the drafting of senior management and regulatory materials
• Create effective presentations for senior management forums
• Add value and be productive in our high-energy setting

Qualifications

MBA Finance / CA

Requirements

• Prior experience in Financial Services a plus (directly or via consulting/regulatory roles)
• An interest in learning and developing your knowledge of financial products and corresponding regulatory capital in global landscape
• Collaboration and relationship-building experience and skills
• A proactive nature with the determination to see tasks through from beginning to end
• Well-developed analytical capabilities, including ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity
• Diversity of thought
• Worked with challenging stakeholders and/ or deadlines to deliver positive results
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt to your audience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Motivation to be accountable and deliver positive results
• An ability to analyze information and present it back within an agreed timeline
• A strong sense of organization and time management skills
• Worked in a high-paced environment and use multi-tasking to your advantage
• A willingness to observe process and disrupt it in order to prioritize the team's efficiency
