Scope
Under direct supervision of a more senior Project Manager, Program Manager, or business leader, the Project Manager manages smaller projects or component(s) of a larger project.
Summary
The Project Lead is responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close).Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team
Detailed Responsibilities
Project Management
• Manage execution of the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan.
• Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the Project Plan, in order to align the stakeholders and team members.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
• May be responsible for managing/ recording detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter.
• Communicates information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
• Identify key project team members by defining roles and responsibilities to create a project organization structure in order to develop the communication plan.
• Implement the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize the impact of the risks on the project.
• Listens intently to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions when appropriate, and allowing others to speak without interrupting them.
• Improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating in order to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency, and boost morale.

Role-specific Technical Skills and Knowledge
• Demonstrate Entry level knowledge of Project Management process and tools.
• Experience communicating effectively with mid-level management and direct client contact.
• Experience with software methodology development processes.
• Ability to create presentations and write business cases under direct involvement by a more senior project or program manager.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines managing a few priorities.
• Project budgeting/costing knowledge.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of work situations.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Knowledge of MS Project.
Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree desired but not required
• PRINCE 2/ PMP Certification desirable, not mandatory
Work Experience
• 0-4 years project management experience
• 4+ years of professional work experience
