Thales is expanding its presence in India through the development a Group Engineering Competence Centre (ECC), reinforcing its position as a leader in all its markets. Launching in early 2019 in Bengaluru, the ECC will expand Thales’ footprint in its core business areas and cement its long-standing relationship with India. This ECC, the first of its kind in India, will focus on hardware, software and systems engineering capabilities for both the civil and defense sectors. Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking Technical Lead engineer role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for FPGA Design & Virtual Verification for Avionics applications. Responsibilities includes development of Test strategy, Virtual Verification Procedures, Test bench, BFMs, Monitors, Checkers & Virtual Verification Report as per DO254 guidelines. Qualifications: B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or Electrical engineering or equivalent with 8 to 14 years of relevant experience. Working experience in Research & Technology of DSP/Processor/Microcontroller development is desirable. Job Responsibilities: Perform FPGA (or ASIC) Design & Verification, especially RISC-V soft-cores and SOC soft-IPs Participate in selection of RISC-V soft-core IPs, and design adaptation to avionics context Implementation and Testing of RISC-V-based architectures in FPGA/ASIC Developing Test strategy, Test bench, BFMs, Monitors, Checkers, Test cases, Virtual Verification Procedures & Virtual Verification Report. Code Coverage analysis and Justification. Release of developed items in accordance with configuration management using GIT/SVN/ Clear Case tools Participate in Project Plan, Estimation, Scheduling, Technical risk identification & Mitigation Possible participations in RTL Design of VIDEO/GRAPHICS, Bus Interfaces such as Arinc 818, Arinc 429, SPI/UART/I2C, PCIe, AXI4, A664 Required Skills/Experience: Degree qualified in electrical/electronic engineering with minimum 6 years of experience in FPGA or ASIC Design & Virtual Verification. Experience in RTL Design using VHDL and VERILOG Skilled in Internal architecture of Processors Experience in development of Test strategy, Test bench, BFMs, Monitors, Checkers, Test cases, Virtual Verification Procedures & Virtual Verification Report. Experience in FPGA Developments (Implementation Tools such as XILINX Vivado/MICROCHIP Libero / INTEL Quartus), Verification tools (Questasim or similar, SV/UVM, …) Desired Skills/Experience: Experience in System-On-Chip (SOC) design, soft-core or hard-core Experience in RISC-V ISA and architectures Experience in handling Lab equipment (Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Function Generators, JTAG, and In-circuit de-buggers). Experience in any scripting language for automation Python / Perl/TCL Experience in C/C++, ISA Simulators/Emulators, and debuggers (GDB, Lauterbach, …) Experience in Requirements Capture, developing Design Specification, detailed design, Test procedure, Test report & other technical artifacts.
