Job description
Your Role:
1. Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company's goals, focusing on the acquisition of high-quality materials and services for the manufacturing of cryogenic and non-cryogenic pressure vessels.
Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring the best combination of price, quality, and reliability.
2. Contract Negotiation and Management:
Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, focusing on favorable terms, cost savings, quality improvement, and risk mitigation.
Manage and review contracts in collaboration with legal team to ensure they are in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
3. Supplier Relationship and Performance Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and mutual growth.
Regularly evaluate supplier performance, implementing measures to address any issues and ensure consistent supply chain efficiency.
4. Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify and mitigate risks within the procurement process, including supply chain disruptions, fluctuations in material costs, and quality concerns.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for ethical procurement practices.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to understand their material and service needs, ensuring alignment with procurement activities.
Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to manage procurement budgets and optimize cost savings.
Participate in product development discussions to provide insights on supply chain capabilities and constraints
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in procurement and contract management, with a significant portion within the heavy equipment manufacturing sector.
Proven track record of managing complex procurement operations and achieving tangible results.
Desired Skills and Characteristics :
Deep knowledge of Indian supply chain dynamics and procurement best practices in the context of cryogenic pressure vessel manufacturing.
Strong negotiation, communication, responsive and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future trends and challenges in procurement.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and industry standards.
