Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
The primary purpose of this role is to drive innovation and automation of financial reporting processes and applications, understand the business requirement, address the data quality issues by coming up with solution with Finance analytics lens paired with automation idea and generate value through productivity, efficient delivery, transform initiatives, eliminating non value added tasks
What will you be doing?
o Understanding of markets business and reporting requirements for financial control function (external and internal)
o Application of the above knowledge in addressing data quality issues in financial reporting and driving automations
o Perform necessary user acceptance testing representing business and provide post production support wherever necessary
o Analytical review of huge volume of data to arrive at patterns
o Support strategic transform initiatives for the financial reporting function applying IFRS knowledge wherever applicable
What we’re looking for:
• Qualified Accountant – ACA, CIMA, ACCA
• Strong academic background – 1st /2nd class honours, minimum bachelor degree from a reputable institution
• Post qualification experience
• Prior experience, if any in a month-end or quarter-end focused reporting role or control environment based or finance automation skillset based
• Knowledge and understanding of the key accounting principles under IFRS
• Strong excel skills
• Working knowledge on SAP
• Good analysis and problem solving skills
• Strong control awareness
• Polite and pleasing
• Persuasive until closure of issues
