Job Description
The VAS Architecture & Platform organization is leading Visa's transformation in architecting, developing, and deploying Value Add Services across our business solution verticals & commercial platforms. A key responsibility of the VAS Innovations Team is focused on delivering innovations leveraging the big-3 public cloud vendors such as GCP, AWS and Azure. These initiatives include creating service and tools, delivering proof of concepts and enabling the migration of existing workloads to public cloud. In addition, delivering innovations that leverage the latest cutting-edge technologies such as GenAI andAI/ML are core to the team’s DNA.
The VAS Innovations team is seeking a dynamic Sr Staff Engineer and Architect. You will play the critical role in defining the architecture and technical vision for the VAS group within Visa Inc. You will be a collaborator who will be depended on by delivery and execution teams to offer technical guidance and solution designs leveraging your expertise. In this role, you will have the opportunity to define and execute on the overall VAS strategy for achieving the goal of scalability, availability, 6 x 9s and performance for VAS services, in the areas such as system architecture, software deployment, security, observability, infrastructure and SRE practices.
VAS develops and operates multiple product and platform applications including Acceptance, Risk and ID, Acceptance, and Issuing Solutions among others which power many consumer payment experiences of our clients. You will have the opportunity to learn these products and your work will have direct impact to the experiences of the end consumers.
The successful candidate to fill this role will have a strong architecture background and a good understanding on architecture principles for high availability/scalability leveraging cloud technologies, whilst possessing effective communication and collaboration skills.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
