Power Solutions Aerodynamic & Mechanical Powertrain Module

Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Powertrain Transport & Construction Tools, as part of Powertrain module.

Our department is accountable for the creation and upkeep of solutions, encompassing processes, tools, and support documents, related to the transport, installation, and servicing of Vestas Powertrains across the globe. Engaged in both the development of new turbines and the enhancement of existing fleet solutions, we play a vital role in ensuring operational standards throughout the lifecycle of Vestas' powertrains.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of TCM business processes, including requirements, design, verification, maintenance, and operation
  • Gather and negotiate customer requirements effectively, ensuring alignment with project goals
  • Support the design of TCM solutions throughout the entire lifecycle, prioritizing safety, quality, and timely delivery within budget constraints
  • Conduct field verification to ensure the functionality and reliability of implemented solutions
  • Manage design risks associated with tools, processes, and documentation to mitigate potential issues
  • Facilitate business process improvements and cost reduction initiatives through standardization and efficiency enhancements
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with interface owners and ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality, and time requirements, while promoting continuous improvement

Qualifications

We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related relevant studies
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in designing tools and processes for the transport, installation, and servicing of wind turbine components
  • Proficiency in Structural Engineering, including FE analysis, analytical calculation, D-FMEA, and Eurocode 3
  • Expertise in process design, including Process Flow, PFMEA, and PRA methodologies
  • Experience in developing offshore service processes (beneficial)
  • Demonstrated experience within the wind industry, lifting tools and processes (beneficial)
  • Knowledge of Vestas way to market (beneficial)

  • Exposure to operational environments involving the transport or lifting of special loads

Additional Information

Your work location will be our office in Aarhus (Denmark) or Porto (Portugal) or Chennai (India).

Up to 20 days of travel per year.
