Job Purpose
Being a Business Development Manager for Solar Power Plants is crucial in promoting and selling this clean energy solution to commercial or industrial customers. The business Development Managers role is to focus on making sales of rooftop solar panels to generate leads, convert them into paying customers, and contribute to the company's overall sales goals.
Job Duties
- Identifying and qualifying potential customers, such as businesses and government agencies.
- Attending industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and build relationships.
- Conducting cold calls and email outreach to generate leads.
- Utilizing online marketing tools and social media platforms to attract potential customers.
- Providing in-depth consultations to potential customers about solar power technology and its benefits.
- Assessing the energy needs and roof suitability of potential customers' properties.
- Designing customized solar power plant systems based on individual needs and budgets.
- Creating detailed proposals outlining the system design, costs, financing options, and expected energy savings.
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
- Coordinating with installation teams and managing the project timeline.
- Presenting proposals to potential customers and addressing their concerns.
- Negotiating contracts and pricing with customers.
- Provide ongoing customer support and answer questions after the installation is complete.
- Monitor the performance of the solar power plant and troubleshoot any issues.
- Building long-term relationships with customers for future referrals and upselling opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of solar power systems and the renewable energy industry.
- Basic understanding of solar power systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite.
- Knowledge of industrial sales
- A strong understanding of the specific industry or vertical in which you are selling is essential. This includes knowledge of the industry's trends, challenges, and competitive landscape.

Education: Bachelor's or Masters in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2 years of solar industry work experience or industrial sales or commodity sales work experience.
